Recommended Laptops
The Miles and Eleanor McKay Business Technology Center recommends a particular model of Dell laptop to all business students. Students are NOT REQUIRED to purchase this model of Dell laptop.
Current Recommendation
We are currently recommending one of two laptop choices from Dell: The Dell Latitude E6400 or the Dell Latitude E4300. Please see specifications below.
Dell's CompleteCare warranty covers any accidental damage that might occur to your system. For example, if you spill water on your computer they will replace the system at no cost.

The business school does not recommend Macs because:
- The overwhelming majority of businesses and corporations use Windows-based machines. Macs are primarily used in the desktop publishing and graphic arts industries.
- Mac laptops cannot print in the BTC lab unless Windows is installed.
- Some class-required applications will not run on a Mac (For example, Excel 2008 is missing the functionality required to run the Foundation simulation for BA101).
- The Intel-based Macs can cost in excess of 30% more than an equivalent Windows laptop.

- Windows XP Pro OS - $180
