Diane Del Guercio presented her paper "Unbundling the Value of Portfolio Management and Distribution in Retail Mutual Funds: Evidence from Subadvisory Contracts," with Jonathan Reuter and Paula Tkac, at the University of British Columbia's 2009 Summer Finance Conference.

Diane Del Guercio received the Goulet Research Excellence Award from the Lundquist College of Business.

Ekkehart Boehmer's paper "Shackling Short Sellers: The 2008 Shorting Ban," with Charles Jones and Xiaoyan Zhang, received the best paper award at the University of Michigan's 2009 Mitsui Finance Symposium on Financial (In)Stability.

Julian Atanassov presented his paper "Do Hostile Takeovers Stifle Innovation? Evidence from Corporate Patenting and Antitakeover Laws" at the 2009 American Finance Association Meetings.

Charles Gaa's paper "Asymmetric Attention to Good and Bad News and the Neglected Firm Effect in Stock Returns" received second prize from Numeric Investors, LLC for their Wheeler Award for Quantitative and Behavioral Research in Finance.
