Leadership and Communication Center

Transforming students into professionals

The Leadership and Communication Center’s mission is to help transform students into professionals by supporting LCB students and faculty in the following areas:

  • Leadership
  • Communication - writing, presentations, cross-cultural communication
  • Teams
  • Ethics Education DSC_0375.JPG
  • Experiential Education

We offer this support through:

  • Our core course, BA352 - Leadership and Communication
  • Our Practicum course, BA430 - Leadership in Action
  • Faculty Workshops
  • Faculty Consultation
  • OMBA Leadership Program
The Center kicks its 2009-10 year off by facilitating Prologue for new MBA students.  During this intensive 2-week program, new MBA students get a crash course in teams, persuasive communication, ethics, case analysis and critical thinking.  They start with a fun and instructive day led by some masters of using improvisation in business, On Your Feet.  They will end with a raft trip on the McKenzie River.  In between, they will work in teams to understand, solve and present a written and oral solution to a complex, global case.  Oh, and they will give back to the community by performing community service at Mt. Pisgah Arboretum.
