Connect to Career Resources: Career Services has a Career Advisor who is focused on supporting career opportunities for students interested in sustainable business, CSR, and non-profit management positions. Be sure you are registered on Blackboard for the Career Services pages.
Hit the Road: Meet industry leaders and business professionals in cities you might want to call home! LCB Career Services along with the Center for Sustainable Business Practices is planning for this year's road trips, so get in your suggestions of companies and cities you think should be on our agenda for Fall and Winter terms. Last year students had the opportunity to take Career Treks to Portland, Seattle and San Francisco where they met business leaders from top companies, but also had the opportunity to understand the culture of different organizations, gain better insight into working life across industries, and connect with Oregon alumni. Highlights from the San Francisco and Seattle Career trips included opportunities to meet the top CSR officers and managers from prominent companies like at REI, Gap, Weyerhauser, Starbuck,s and Wells Fargo and get insights into their problems and visions for a sustainable future.
Mark Your Calendars for Fall Term's Executives in Residence: The Center for Sustainable Business Practices is in the process of confirming this year's Executives in Residence. Following on the success of last year's visits, we expect to have two business leaders visit with our faculty and students for a day each during Fall term. Last year these executives worked with students in a variety of settings--speaking to classes, holding public presentations, or even participating in lunch and dinner roundtables where students get to talk informally with them about their life, business, and experiences balancing stewardship of planet, people and profits. Keep your ears open and mark these as "must see" events.
