Recruiting Our Intellectual Capital ...
Students at the Securities Analysis Center work closely with industry as a natural part of the program and already have high visibility with many firms when it comes time for recruitment. The connections and working relationships that are made through the sponsorship of Applied Projects, featuring your firm as a Guest Speaker, the Student Mentoring Program, and as an Executive In Residence, are invaluable in discovering the next generation of talent first-hand. We strongly encourage our partners in industry who have an eye towards recruiting to join us during the academic year in order to raise the visibility of their firms and begin the process of recruiting.
Alternative venues exist for recruiting firms to engage our students, including hosting an information / recruiting session, taking part in the occasional industry panel discussion series, participating in practice interviews and resume critique sessions, or hosting a group of eligible students on-site as a recruiting tool. All of these have been highly effective in raising the profile of the firm and making an early connection with students.
Job and Internship Postings
Often, the first exposure a student will have to your business comes by way of a job or internship posting. Posting your position is a simple process:
- UO JobLink is a searchable database of jobs and internships available to registered students and alumni. UO JobLink reaches students of all majors, including business students.
- BlackBoard is an intranet site for business students and we can provide additional coverage for your job or internship announcement by posting it there.
- In your announcement, provide a general job description, identify your target audience (major/concentration/year in school), define the application process (resume/cover letter/online form), and mention any important dates (due date/start date).
- Please send the posting via email to Bethany Robinson: bethanyr@uoregon.edu
Interviewing on Campus Conducting interviews at the Lillis Business Complex can be a great way to connect with candidates and at the same time get valuable exposure for your company. On-campus interviewing is also convenient for business students. To find out about the best time to conduct interviews on campus, please call Bethany Robinson at (541) 346-1589 or email:
