MGMT 335, ACTG 340 and MKTG 445 must be taken prior to enrolling in MGMT 455, which is the concentration's capstone course.

Course Descriptions

MGMT 335 Launching New Ventures(4)
Skills, behaviors, and knowledge necessary for creating andgrowing new ventures. Evaluating opportunities, developing growthstrategies, obtaining venture financing, intellectual property, andbuilding a management team. Pre-req: major status and MGMT 321

ACTG 340 Accounting for Entrepreneurs(4)
Sources and of cash in the context of start-up and small firms.Emphasis on cash generated by operations and used for operations andgrowth . Secondary emphasis on external sources of cash. Pre-req: majorstatus.

MKTG 445 New Product Development(4)
Techniques for analyzing and developing new markets. Pricing,communicating, and distributing new products or services with limitedresources. Developing marketing plans for new ventures. Pre-req: majorstatus and MKTG 311.

MGMT 455 Business Planning for Entrepreneurs(4)
Capstone course developing the skills needed to create, launch andgrow innovative new ventures – either as start ups or withinestablished businesses. Pre-req: MGMT 335, ACTG 340 and MKTG 445.Please note: Entrepreneurial students who complete this course in thewinter may be eligible to compete in undergraduate business plancompetitions across the U.S. which take place in late winter and earlyspring. Students selecting the spring section may take advantage of theLCE’s internal business plan competition, Venture Quest.
